Terms of use

These terms cover your use of Accredit at accredit.store and of the store sites we host on it. Accredit is the platform. The courses, events, materials and certificates on it belong to the universities, associations, colleges, regulators and training teams that publish them — on this page, “your provider”. Using Accredit means accepting these terms.
Your account
An account belongs to one person. Keep your details accurate, keep your password and sign-in links to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your provider creates and administers accounts for its own programmes, and can enrol, suspend or remove a learner from a course it runs.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Accredit to break the law, or to harass or impersonate anyone.
- Do not try to reach accounts, records or submissions that are not yours, probe or circumvent our security, or scrape or overload the service.
- Do not upload malware, or material you have no right to share. Do not redistribute course material, assessments or exam content your provider has not released for that.
- Do not resell or share access to a course, and do not have someone else do your assessments for you.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and will tell your provider when a suspension affects its programme.
Who owns what
Course materials, assessments, branding and event content belong to the provider that published them, or to whoever licensed it to them. You get access to them for your own learning, and nothing more.
Your submissions stay yours. By submitting them you let your provider and Accredit store, display and mark them for the purposes of the course. The Accredit platform, software and this website are ours.
Certificates and records
Certificates, credentials and CPD records are issued by your provider, against requirements your provider sets. Accredit records them, renders them and runs the page that verifies them. We do not award a credential, and we do not amend or revoke one on our own — that is your provider’s decision.
Verification is public by design. Anyone holding a credential’s code can open its verification page and see the recipient’s name, the credential and its title, the issuer, the issue and expiry dates, whether it has been revoked or replaced, and any supporting documents attached to it. The privacy notice sets this out in full.
Payments and refunds
Where a course or event is paid for, payment is taken by a payment provider — Stripe, Eventbrite, or Moneris where your provider uses it. The price, any taxes, and the refund and cancellation policy are your provider’s, and are stated at checkout. Refund requests go to your provider, which decides them; we process what they instruct.
Availability
We work to keep Accredit available and to give notice before planned maintenance, but the service is provided as it is and we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Providers may change, unpublish or end a course, and live sessions depend on services outside our control. Keep your own copy of work that matters to you.
Ending it
You can stop using Accredit whenever you like and ask us to close your account; the privacy notice says what happens to your records. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and access to a course ends when your provider ends its programme.
Changes to these terms
We will post changes here and move the date at the top. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you rather than rely on you noticing. Continuing to use Accredit after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it; the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing on this page takes away a right you have under the consumer or data protection law that applies where you live.
